The HIGH TEA FOR HIGH FLYERS ceramic mug is dedicated to all lovers of HIGH TEA, an important moment of the day in the United Kingdom today as it was two hundred years ago. A relaxing tea time, served on the risers, which always includes small sandwiches, hot scones, and pastries, accompanied by good tea. HIGH FLYERS are all those who fly high, have a vision and follow their ideals despite everything.
So did Isabel Cargill and Anna Maria Babington, who in 1893 founded a very English tea room in the heart of Rome. Here then is the design of the Victorian cup being carried away by the balloon. Two illustrations that harken back to the time of Queen Victoria, when Babingtons was opened in the Spanish Steps. An era that gave us great discoveries, not the least of which was the English tea ceremony.

The term High Tea has several origins. Historically when tea arrived in England, ladies of the English aristocracy served tea and a few treats to their friends on low parlor tables. As tea spread to all levels of society, tea time became the main meal at the end of the day for the working class: this time, however, tea was served on the dining table, higher, and included both savory and sweet.
Another explanation for the term High Tea can be found in the fact that today Tea Time is served on risers.
Whatever the origin of this ceremony, we at Babingtons love High Tea and celebrate it among other things with this mug!
